Why I started a blog

I started this blog mainly as a way to document my experiences of recovering from various mental health illnesses and to show people how to find a mental health service to help and support you if you are going through something similar.

The idea was first presented to me by my therapist. During my early days in recovery I was unable to go to work, I was living at home and frankly…recovery is boring when you’re alone in your house all day every day. I toyed with the idea of blogging my recovery journey but my shame and fear was still too prominent. I felt that people would judge me for talking about my mental illnesses and would ridicule me for it.

It is only now, 7 months later and almost back to my normal self, that I find myself ready to start blogging.

Blogging is completely new to me so my thoughts may be rambling and random but I will try to post regularly about my journey of recovery, from beginning up to date.

Bear with me if you can (and if you want to) as I post updates as I will try to post about the mental health services in Wexford, and in other places in Ireland and online as I have discovered them. They are important, and may be vital in someone beginning their own journey of recovery.

I hope you find something that will personally appeal to you on this blog, and as always, if you have any questions or comments feel free to contact me.
