February Favourites

So I’ve basically been AWOL on my blog for the whole of February. It seemed to go so fast! Every time I meant to sit down and write a blog post nothing came to mind despite writing my blog post ideas in my journal. Nothing seemed to just ‘flow’ like it usually does when I write.

This month has been full of ups and downs. I’ve been trying to eat better and get more sleep, and also I rejoined the gym and started a new fitness program with them. But I’ve also had a lull in my motivation where I found myself drifting back into old eating habits and not sticking to writing in my journal every day.

So I will start with a simple blog post to get back into the swing of things. Over the last few days I have literally been snowed in to my apartment after the snowstorm ‘Emma’ hit Ireland so I have had loads of time to clean out my room, reflect and to obviously go online shopping! Therefore, I have gathered a nice list of things that I loved this month.

Favourite Books

Happy by Fearne Cotton


This book is Fearne’s personal struggle with depression and some useful tips for how to relieve it, and how to become happier.

Essentially, I loved it because it was just that – personal and simple. Fearne, just like most of us, has had ups and downs in her life, and she was hit by a noticeable darkness that was diagnosed as depression. She highlights in her book the ways in which she noticed her depression in her life, how she tackled it and the support she received. She then goes on to reveal her tips on how to become a happier and healthier person by appreciating the little wins in life.

She also has released a journal that you can use alongside ‘Happy’ to practice your positivity. You can buy it here.

Favourite Website for Mental Health



I recently attended a free CBT course run by Aware Ireland that tackled depression and anxiety and gave us workbooks with many exercises going through how to make positive changes in our lives. The course materials came from Live Life To The Full or http://www.llttf.com and the workbooks were full of wisdom and motivation. Also you can register to the website for free and get mindfulness activities for free. So I definitely advise checking it out even if you’ve just been going through a bad patch or wish to brush up on your life coping skills.

How perfect are these for Spring?? The colour is so lovely, I’m obsessed with pastel greys and pinks at the moment and these look gorgeous with my stonewashed Mom jeans.

Nasty Gal Coming Up Roses Midi Dress


Seriously the dress of dreams. I plan on wearing this to a wedding in the summer. I spotted it on Nasty Gal where they currently had 20% off and free delivery.

New Look ‘Belle’ Slogan Tee


I love slogan tees, and this one with its little tie front is so cute. I wore this out with a midi skirt and heels the other night and got so many compliments on the style.

The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask

I love this mask. It literally makes my skin feel so fresh and clean and it smells amazing. Its a light mask so you don’t need to wear a lot of it, so it lasts for ages.

  2. I’m looking at that mental health website now! As soon as I read free mindfulness activities I clicked on the link. Mindfulness is one of the most amazing things I’ve practiced, I did a few exercises with my counselor and they were so so powerful.

  4. The book looks right up my alley! Too bad it’s not available for rent from my library 😦 I’m going to put it into my Goodreads so I can continue to check back!
    February was an “off” month for me after a “good” month of motivated January… I think I’d burnt myself out from going on all cylinders all month in January! Haha.
    Hope you’re getting in the rhythm of things with working out and eating better! Definitely things I need to work on this month as well!
