Seriously where did June go? It’s the first of July already and I am so behind with my blog posts, as usual.
I’ve had a busy few weeks. I finished up my first year of teaching in Cork, and my third year teaching overall. I’ve had a good year. I moved from mainstream into special education and I am loving it. I think its where I’m meant to be.
I also have been working on my fitness too. I’ve mentioned before that I am working with ATP Fitness where I do personal training with a trainer and fitness classes too. I also started FitWithHer with Lisa Dee online. I will be telling you more about that in this post.
Fashion-wise I’ve been struggling with this hot weather, but I’ve picked out a few pieces that I think are essential in the summer.
So, let’s get into it shall we?
I recently picked up some new books and have been putting in a lot more effort to read them. I used to be such a bookworm, but lately I’ve found that social media time has taken over my reading time, and my concentration has suffered as a result.
I’ve mentioned ‘Happy’ by Fearne Cotton in my February Favourites but I need to mention again what a positive read it is.
I’ve been reading ‘The Source’ by Judith McAdam. Its a very interesting read. She talks in depth about how to connect to your own inner child, how to connect to your chakras and to the Source Energy inside you. Judith is kinesiologist and works closely with people to get them to reconnect to their inner potential. If you feel you are missing something in your life, this book may be for you.
I also read ‘Quiet’ by Susan Cain. In it she talks about the power of an introvert in a world dominated by extroverts. As a classic introvert, I relate very much to this book and I like how she is positive about the traits that introverts possess. It has helped me to have a better self-image and more confidence in my abilities.
I am OBSESSED with Twinkl. It has resources made by teachers for teachers and the resources are so relevant and helpful for every kind of teacher. I’ve signed up to the Platinum membership and I literally use it every day for something. Its especially good for fillers and differentiated worksheets for your class or student in special education.
OK, but on to non-work related websites.
I have just recently started using Pinterest for my blog. I know, I know, its old news but to me its fantastic news! I also use Canva to edit and design my pictures for my blog. I have gotten much more use out of it this month since I’ve started using Pinterest. To me, these two apps go together like nutella and toast!
Favourite Summer Fashion
Zara Linen jacket with tassels €29.99
New Look pink quilted belt bag €14.99
Zara strappy sandals €22.99
New Look distressed Mom shorts
River Island crotchet knit white bralet
I think this look is perfect for summer. The sandals just have a small heel so they’re comfortable for walking around. The white top is perfect for a summer festival and the shorts are comfortable and practical, as well as stylish. (Mom jeans are so in right now kids). I think the bag is so good for holidays as you can fit your essentials in it and it won’t come off easy if you are in a dodgy area.
ATP Fitness in Douglas, Cork are excellent and provide a great and friendly service. They provide semi-private personal training as well as a range of fitness classes to suit your interests.
FitWithHer is an excellent online service provided by Lisa Dee, an Irish fitness professional. She includes meditation and yoga in her service as well as food and fitness advice and free home workouts. I love it because its built around a community and you can ask for help or advice at any time.
So that’s basically my round up of my favourites this month. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments around these.
Have a fabulous July!
